GOVERNOR ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER’S CALIFORNIA RECOVERY TEAM

The California Recovery Team is a ballot measure, grassroots and legislative advocacy organization that will provide the monetary and public support necessary for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to achieve his ongoing reform agenda. The CRT is a California 501(c)(4) public benefit corporation.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is the Honorary Chairman of the California Recovery Team, an organization that will provide the platform for the Governor to take his legislative and ballot measure priorities directly to the public through personal appearances, media outreach, paid advertising and, when necessary, the ballot box by utilizing the initiative process.

The California Recovery Team will be the principal organization supporting the passage of the Arnold Schwarzenegger Economic Recovery Plan, which will require both legislative action as well as statewide initiatives that will be part of the March and November 2004 statewide ballots.

The following professionals will lead the CRT:

  • Gary Hunt, a respected Orange County business leader and public policy strategist with extensive statewide campaign and legislative experience will serve as the volunteer finance chair;
  • Mike Murphy, a nationally recognized political and communications advisor who was the senior strategist for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s historic and successful campaign for governor;
  • Jeff Randle, one of California’s leading grassroots communications experts who was the campaign’s political director;
  • Don Sipple, a top-flight nationally recognized communications, advertising and messaging specialist who produced Schwarzenegger’s campaign commercials; and,
  • George Gorton, one of California’s most senior political strategist who played an instrumental role in the passage of Proposition 48 and Schwarzenegger’s campaign for governor.
  • The organization’s executive director is Martin Wilson, Renee Croce is the finance director, and Tom Hiltachk is the general counsel. All three individuals played similar roles in the Schwarzenegger campaign for governor.
